Yes. The Protocol is a food supplement, not a medicine, and was built for people whose appetite is smaller, including people using prescribed weight-loss injections. Injections are absorbed under the skin rather than through your gut, so DIGEST, NOURISH and RESTORE don't affect how they're absorbed.

These medications slow how quickly your stomach empties, so two practical tips: start DIGEST at half a teaspoon a day for the first week, and always take it with plenty of water. Let your prescriber or pharmacist know you're taking it, as you would with any supplement.

Your vitamins, minerals and fibre come from your food. When you eat less food, you usually take in less of all three. Most UK adults already eat around 20g of fibre a day against the recommended 30g, and smaller meals make that gap wider.

Eating less doesn't lower your daily needs. That's why the Protocol focuses on three gaps: fibre (DIGEST), vitamins and minerals (NOURISH) and magnesium (RESTORE). Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

A standard multivitamin covers vitamins and some minerals, but it can't fit meaningful amounts of fibre or magnesium into one tablet. Magnesium is a bulky mineral: RESTORE needs three capsules to provide 387mg from three forms. DIGEST gives you 3.5g of fibre per heaped teaspoon, which no tablet can.

In most cases, yes, with sensible timing:

• DIGEST: soluble fibres such as psyllium and glucomannan form a gel that can slow how quickly tablets are absorbed. Take DIGEST at least 2 hours apart from other oral medicines.
• RESTORE: magnesium and zinc can reduce the absorption of some antibiotics (tetracyclines and quinolones), thyroid medication (levothyroxine) and osteoporosis medicines (bisphosphonates). Leave at least 2 to 4 hours between them.
• Tablet-form weight-loss medication: follow its instructions on timing first, then take the Protocol later in the day.

If you take any medication or are under medical supervision, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting any food supplement.

Raising fibre intake quickly can cause temporary wind or bloating while your gut adjusts. This is normal and usually settles within one to two weeks. To keep it comfortable:

• Start with half a teaspoon a day for the first week, then move to a full heaped teaspoon.
• Mix it into at least 250ml of water and drink another glass afterwards. Glucomannan swells as it absorbs water, so never take DIGEST dry or just before lying down.
• Drink plenty of fluid through the day.
